Andrea is currently Head of Market Access Division, Bilateral General Directorate, Undersecretariat for International Economic Relations (SUBREI) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile. Among her tasks are the supervision of trade agreement negotiations and the administration of commitments signed by Chile at bilateral and multilateral levels; in the areas of trade in goods, rules of origin and procedures associated with origin, trade facilitation, trade defence and competition policy, among others. Since 2019, she is in charge of coordinating the Secretariat of the National Trade Facilitation Committee of Chile.
She has also served as Head of the Trade Defence Department and as advisor to the World Trade Organisation Department, SUBREI; she then worked for more than a decade as a consultant and later served as Deputy Director of International Affairs at the Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies (ODEPA) of the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture.
Andrea Cerda is an agronomist with a master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and a master’s degree in international economics from the University of Birmingham, England.
